Castle of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle

In the heart of Périgord Noir, 9km from Sarlat, Castelnaud castle, built on a rocky spur, offers a magnificent panoramic view over the Dordogne valley. Founded in the 12th century, it is a perfect example of medieval fortification. It now houses a major collection of weapons and armour. On the bastion, the most powerful siege engines of the Middle Ages are reconstituted in attack position.

Corn Maze of the Castles

A corn maze can be found in Vézac, not far from Beynac and Sarlat. To find it, simply head towards the Marqueyssac gardens.
The labyrinth is open every day in July and August from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Group rates are available.
You should allow 1? to 2 hours to complete the entire route.

La Roque Gageac

La Roque Gageac is one of the most beautiful villages in France, nestling against an immense limestone cliff in a meander of the Dordogne, and blending remarkably well into the landscape.
La Roque Gageac was an important and impregnable stronghold during the Hundred Years' War. The troglodyte forts and the castles of the bishops of Sarlat date from this period.
During the Renaissance, the village was embellished with beautiful stone mansions.
Numerous narrow streets lead to the foot of the cliff, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the river.
Saint Cyprien

Saint Cyprien is a medieval town on a hill on the banks of the Dordogne, with a population of 1,700.
Saint Cyprien is a small village of 1,600 inhabitants situated in the heart of the Périgord's golden triangle: Sarlat, Les Eyzies, Bergerac, etc.
La traverse, the small street that runs the length of the village, hosts a fabulous market every Sunday, where you'll also find small shops and restaurants.
For the visit, you'll have to stray a little towards the rising parts, you'll wander through small streets where the stone dwellings have been perfectly preserved and give the village an incredible charm.
